Chess Problems

The following test consists of 10 problems and 2 bonus positions.  Each is worth 10 points.  Read the directions for each problem before you answer.  In each case the first move is your answer.  To receive your test grade, email your answers to me and I will send your score.   Remember, there is only one correct answer to each problem.

To get started, here is a sample position.  There is only one correct answer.  This is a mate in 2 problem.  What that means is, if white makes the correct first move, then no matter what black does in response, he will be mated on the next move.  In the sample position if white moves Qg2 check, then black only has one reply.  After black moves Kb8, white mates by playing Qb7.

So the correct answer to this sample position is Qg2+.

This is a mate in 2 problem.  What this means is that IF white makes the correct first move, no matter WHAT black does, white can then checkmate him on his 2nd move.  There is only one correct answer.  This is worth 10 points.
